About Robens Napolitan Tom Kramer

Robens Napolitan Tom Kramer An Artful Marriage

Robens Napolitan and Tom Kramer have been creating
art, poetry, and life together since 1974. Robens writes,
paints, sculpts, and is a professional gardener. Tom writes,
paints, draws, and plays music. Within an atmosphere of
constant and intense collaboration, they still find a way to
honor and respect each other’s unique and individual voice,
mining creative depths that neither one knew were there.

ROBENS NAPOLITAN

As a child, I begged my mother to persuade my father that art lessons
were much more in keeping with my talents than playing the violin. Tippy,
the family dog who howled every time I practiced, agreed wholeheartedly.
From then on, I’ve expressed myself with painting, drawing, sculpture,
ceramics, fiber, and photography. As an avid gardener, I’m drawn to the color,
harmony, and balance that I see in nature. These are the qualities that I hope
to communicate through my art.

TOM KRAMER

My art journey began with humorous drawings during childhood in Portland,
Oregon and led to watercolors and caricatures in high school. Acrylics, oils,
and art classes followed during my college years in Wisconsin and California.
My first exhibitions were at the Unicorn Gallery in San Francisco in 1968.
Since then, I’ve shown my art in galleries, museums, books, periodicals,
and on a compact disc cover. All of my work has an intensity of color and a
subtlety of humor or meaning that hopefully contributes to a healing experience
for the viewer.
